Project description
The international Luxoft team is seeking an experienced Android App Developer with Unreal Engine expertise to contribute to the development of an innovative in-vehicle infotainment system for the next generation of electric vehicles. This role focuses on working with the Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) to develop 3D applications using Unreal Engine and Android Studio. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Unreal Engine and Android app development using Kotlin and Java. Knowledge of AOSP, AAOS, HVAC, Media, Car System UI, and Car Launcher is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
Develop Android 3D applications using Unreal Engine (UE).
Integrate 3D assets, animations, and scenes provided by the Design Team into Unreal Engine.
Write mainly in C++ (not Blueprint scripts) in Unreal to manage 3D object behaviors, animations, and user interactions.
Optimize 3D performance for HMI devices, focusing on smooth rendering and responsiveness in Android environments.
Collaborate with the team to integrate Unreal Engine applications and frameworks into Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and AOSP environments.
Ensure high performance and responsiveness of Android applications built using Unreal Engine.
Conduct testing and debugging of developed applications across various Android devices and vehicle platforms.
Document code, architecture, and workflows, and provide technical support as required.
Skills
Must have
Unreal Engine (C++). Experience in Android app development.
Solid understanding of Android platform limitations and optimization techniques for 3D applications.
Knowledge of integrating Unreal Engine projects into Android build pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially in performance tuning for mobile devices.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment (designers, artists, engineers).
Nice to have
Knowledge and experience with AAOS and AOSP.
Familiarity with HVAC, Car System UI, Car Launcher and Media.
Experience with automotive infotainment systems.
Experience with performance optimization and debugging tools in HMI.
Knowledge of Android development in Kotlin or Java is good to have.
Experience in Automotive HMI development.
