Application Developer

Overview

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Application Developer to design and develop software solutions tailored for NVOCC operations, freight booking, and real-time container tracking. The ideal candidate should have experience in logistics software, carrier integrations, and cloud-based applications for ocean freight management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain NVOCC freight management applications for booking, documentation, and cargo tracking.
• Integrate with shipping lines and carrier APIs (Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, etc.).
• Develop automated Bill of Lading (BoL) generation and electronic documentation handling.
• Build rate management modules for automated freight rate calculations.
• Ensure EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) compliance for seamless data exchange with shipping partners.
• Develop custom APIs for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port operators.
• Optimize route planning and load optimization using AI/ML-based algorithms.
• Work with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to ensure scalability and high availability.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and performance optimization to enhance system reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), C#.
• Experience in NVOCC and freight forwarding software development, including ocean freight, container management, and cargo tracking.
• Database expertise: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle.
• Experience with API development: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and EDI integrations.
• Familiarity with container tracking systems: MarineTraffic API, port terminal integrations.
• Cloud computing experience: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Version control: Git, GitHub, GitLab.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on logistics automation.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and ERP logistics solutions.
• Knowledge of blockchain applications for supply chain visibility and smart contracts.
• Understanding of AI/ML for predictive analytics in freight management.
• Prior experience working with FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less-than-Container Load) operations.
