Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer - NLP/LLM

Overview

Client is looking for a motivated AI/ML Engineer (LLM & NLP) with hands-on experience in Large Language Models and Natural Language Processing to support the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of intelligent AI systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong machine learning fundamentals, experience in information extraction and prompt engineering, and the ability to collaborate with senior engineers to build scalable AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of LLMs and NLP models for real-world applications.
  
  

• Entity recognition (NER)
• Metadata extraction, classification, and normalization
• Structuring outputs into JSON / database-ready formats
  
  

• Design, test, and optimize prompts for extraction, summarization, Q&A, and classification
• Implement prompt templates, guardrails, and evaluation workflows
• Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate models into production systems using APIs and services.
• Monitor model performance, analyze failures, and recommend continuous improvements.
• Stay updated with advancements in LLMs, transformers, NLP, and retrieval/extraction techniques.
  
  

• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in AI/ML/NLP/LLM projects (strong internships/projects considered).
• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency in Python.
  
  

• Custom NER / entity extraction from text or documents
• Extracting key fields/metadata and converting unstructured text into structured outputs
  
  

• Understanding of prompt patterns (few-shot prompting, structured output prompts, reasoning-based prompting)
• Prompt iteration using evaluation datasets and error analysis
• Familiarity with at least one deep learning framework : PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with data handling, preprocessing, and dataset management using Pandas/NumPy.
  
  

• Hands-on experience with transformer-based models.
• Experience using Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, NLTK, or similar NLP libraries.
• Experience working with document formats (PDF/HTML/DOCX) and noisy OCR text.
  
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
