Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Architect / Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in SQL, Data Warehousing, and Cloud Data Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role involves designing and architecting solutions for medium to large-scale data projects, ensuring high performance, scalability, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in SQL development, data modeling, ETL/ELT, analytics, and data governance, while mentoring teams and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
- Leverage expertise in Informatica, Teradata, Hadoop, Analytics, and Cloud platforms to define and implement data architectures.
- Architect and implement data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), data warehouses, data modeling, and reporting solutions.
- Define information structure, dataflows, backup, recovery, and security specifications.
- Ensure architectural alignment with regulatory compliance and data governance requirements.
- Guide teams in developing Proof of Concepts (POCs), prototypes, and data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand workflows, requirements, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).
- Perform gap analysis, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend optimized solutions.
- Provide estimates, perform design/code reviews, and ensure best practices are followed.
- Support implementation of governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing enterprise data.
- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database schemas for performance.
- Implement data quality, completeness, and improvement strategies.
- Set goals, mentor, and guide engineers/technical specialists.
- Work with internal/external stakeholders to resolve architecture-related issues.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and support team skill-building initiatives.
- Explore new technologies, frameworks, and tools in Data Engineering & Cloud Analytics.
- Participate in internal and external forums, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for new service offerings and reusable components.
- SQL Development: 10+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MS SQL.
- Strong expertise in writing complex stored procedures, triggers, views, indexes, and functions.
- Advanced knowledge of query optimization, SQL profiling, and database performance tuning.
- Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools, Data Warehousing concepts, and Data Migration.
- Proficiency in Data Modeling and Schema Design.
- Hands-on with Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) for data services.
- Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Pig, MapReduce).
- Programming proficiency in Python and/or Java.
- Experience with Backup/archival software and data recovery.
- Certifications in AWS/Azure/GCP Big Data/Analytics Specializations.
- Experience in Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or AI-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with 3rd party API integration.
- Exposure to Data Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Contribution to data governance frameworks.
- Participation in standards organizations, regulatory bodies, or external conferences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to mentor and lead teams, providing career guidance.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Ability to balance innovation with practical implementation.
- 10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, SQL Development, and Architecture.
- Proven track record in handling end-to-end enterprise data projects.
