Associate/Technical Lead - Air Quality

WSP India is seeking a passionate, forward thinking Technical Lead – Air Quality to join our growing GCC India team. Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Act as the primary technical liaison for UK-based Air Quality and Environmental Directors.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of air quality assessments and modelling outputs from inception to completion.
• Oversee and guide dispersion modelling using ADMS, ADMS-Roads, and experience with CALPUFF/AERMOD.
• Champion technical excellence across proposals, reports, modelling outputs, and project documentation.
• Provide operational oversight and mentorship to the GCC Air Quality team, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables aligned with UK standards.
• Drive innovation in modelling approaches, monitoring strategies, and analytical techniques.
  
  
  

• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful delivery.
• Forecast workloads and allocate resources effectively to meet project and commercial targets.
• Monitor and report on commercial performance, ensuring utilisation, profitability, and earning capacity are achieved.
• Contribute to bid submissions, tenders, and strategic business development initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate project variations to deliver commercial advantage.
  
  
  

• Uphold local and UK health and safety, welfare, risk, and information security standards.
• Conduct robust technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality outputs.
• Promote Safety by Design and ensure compliance with internal systems, processes, and UK technical guidance.
• Ensure all work aligns with the UK GCC Charter and WSP’s Vision and Values.
  
  
  

• Serve as the technical face of the India-based Air Quality team in client interactions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, Local Authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support marketing materials, capability statements, and strategic business development activities.
  
  
  

• Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in air quality consultancy, preferably within infrastructure or environmental development.
• Proficiency in ADMS, ADMS-Roads, CALPUFF, AERMOD, and strong GIS capability (ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Experience with data scripting languages such as Python or R.
• Strong understanding of UK air quality legislation, policy, and technical guidance.
• Proven track record of managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and proposals.
• Experience mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Membership (Associate or Full) of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) is highly desirable.
• Positive, proactive approach with strong accountability and leadership qualities.
