Overview
You're a DevOps engineer who doesn't simply maintain infrastructure—you architect it to eliminate failure before it occurs. If you find satisfaction in dissecting convoluted legacy systems, engineering more efficient solutions, and automating every manual process you touch, this opportunity is for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels under pressure, where 99.9% uptime isn't a goal—it's a baseline. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while implementing monitoring and automation that genuinely prevents incidents.
Most organizations ask you to support one platform. We're asking you to unify and enhance multiple platforms without disruption. Where others segregate databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to drive cost efficiency and operational simplicity across our portfolio. This position isn't suited for someone content to oversee existing infrastructure; it's designed for someone who encounters fragmented, inconsistent environments and immediately envisions how to rebuild them better.
Your ownership will extend from infrastructure migrations through AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. That includes identifying and resolving what's failing, orchestrating cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of your responsibilities. You'll hold genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure choices—no prolonged waits for sign-offs from stakeholders removed from the technical reality.
If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys transforming complex systems into seamlessly functioning operations, this role offers an ideal environment. If you require constant guidance, become overwhelmed managing diverse technology stacks, or favor greenfield projects over restoring order to chaos, this isn't the right fit. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with latitude to build, optimize, and automate at scale, submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Orchestrating and executing sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including migrations from legacy platforms to AWS cloud environments and lift-and-shift operations
- Architecting and deploying monitoring frameworks and creating automations for monitoring systems, software releases, and operational processes
- Conducting system monitoring, backup operations, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost reduction initiatives
- Spending your time in Jira and marathon status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not merely document issues
- Sustaining legacy systems without end - you'll be authorized to pursue substantial improvements
- Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate remediation during incidents
- Operating within restrictive technical boundaries - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized knowledge
- Advocating for funding to execute essential upgrades - we recognize the strategic value of infrastructure investment
- Advance reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure throughout our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
- Comprehensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience solely with other cloud providers is insufficient)
- Proven ability scripting with Python and Bash for routine administrative tasks
- Demonstrated experience managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Expert-level Linux systems administration capabilities
