Backend/DevOps Cloud Engineer

Position Overview
As a Backend/DevOps Cloud Engineer, you will bridge the gap between software development and infrastructure management, playing a crucial role in our organization's digital transformation journey. You'll collaborate with mobile and web development teams, security specialists, and product managers to architect, build, and maintain our scalable cloud ecosystem that powers mission-critical applications. This hybrid role requires both deep technical knowledge of backend services and modern cloud infrastructure practices.

Key Responsibilities

● Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs that power web and mobile applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
● Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js (Express.js or NestJS) or similar technologies.
● Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
● Build CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployments, and updates across multiple environments.
● Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (self-hosted or managed services like EKS/GKE/AKS).
● Integrate cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for scalable and secure infrastructure deployment.
● Ensure system observability using monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
● Collaborate with development and product teams to align infrastructure with product goals.
● Manage both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) for backend services.
● Enforce security best practices including secrets management, role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
● Debug and troubleshoot system issues, backend errors, and cloud service failures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise

● Backend Development: 2+ years building production-grade services with Node.js (Express.js or NestJS)
● Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience deploying and managing workloads on AWS, GCP, or Azure
● Containerization: Strong proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS)
● Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools
● CI/CD: Expertise in setting up and maintaining pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
● Databases: Strong knowledge of both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases
● API Development: Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs at scale

Additional Qualifications
● System Design: Ability to architect scalable, resilient distributed systems
● Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting
● Security Mindset: Understanding of OAuth, JWT, IAM, encryption, and secure coding practices
● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
● Certifications: Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹436,559.02 - ₹600,000.00 per year
