Backend Python Developer

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join our core engineering team. You’ll work on building distributed systems, high-throughput data pipelines, and scalable APIs that power our real-time financial platforms and analytics tools.

You will be involved in designing system architecture, managing asynchronous jobs, optimizing database performance, and ensuring secure, resilient backend services that can scale with user demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Python (FastAPI or similar)
• Build and maintain high-performance APIs and microservices
• Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases for transactional and analytical workloads
• Implement asynchronous processing pipelines using Celery and Redis
• Integrate and scale Kafka for streaming data ingestion and inter-service communication
• Write clean, modular, and well-tested code that adheres to engineering best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product stakeholders
• Handle error logging, tracing, retries, and task recovery for distributed jobs
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and horizontal scalability of services

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in backend development with Python
• Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and working with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL (query optimization, indexing, partitioning)
• Solid understanding of Redis for caching and task queues
• Hands-on experience with Celery and RabbitMQ/Redis as brokers
• Experience integrating and working with Kafka for event-driven architecture
• Comfortable with Git, Docker, and basic CI/CD processes
• Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability

• Exposure to time-series databases like TimescaleDB
• Experience working on financial or data-heavy systems (trading platforms, analytics dashboards)
• Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, ELK, etc.
• Knowledge of Web3, smart contract indexing, or DeFi protocols (optional)
