Overview
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Strategy team at Mercer. This role will be based in Gurugram. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Business Analyst – Strategy, Analytics & Operations
We are looking for a hands-on Business Analyst who is excited to work deeply with data and support business decision-making in a B2B SaaS environment. This role sits close to the Strategy & Operations team and works across leadership, sales, operations, and marketing to drive insights, reporting, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate enjoys getting their hands dirty with data, building dashboards, automating reports, and improving day-to-day business processes and supporting strategic decision making.
We will count on you to:
- Business Analytics & Decision Support
- Own recurring and ad-hoc business analyses to support leadership and strategy teams
- Analyze business performance across key SaaS metrics (pipeline, revenue, conversion, pricing, deal velocity, customer cohorts, etc.)
- Use SQL and Excel to extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources
- Translate data into clear insights, dashboards, and narratives that drive business decisions
- Support strategic initiatives with data-backed analysis rather than high-level frameworks
- Data Management & Reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and hygiene across reports and systems
- Work with CRM data (Zoho CRM preferred) to track sales, pipeline, and deal metrics
- Automate recurring reports and reduce manual reporting effort wherever possible
- Act as a single point of contact for standard business and performance reporting
- Operational Efficiency & Automation
- Support operational processes such as deal desk management, deal flow tracking, and pricing analytics
- Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and propose data-driven improvements
- Use automation, AI tools, or low-code solutions to reduce turnaround time for reporting and analysis
- Build scalable processes as the business grows
- 1–4 years of experience in analytics, business analysis, operations, or data-driven roles
- Curious, execution-oriented, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
- Willing to learn quickly and take ownership of data and reporting problems
- Strong communication skills — able to explain numbers to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of SQL
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots, formulas; macros a plus)
- Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
- Comfort working with CRM tools (Zoho CRM or any equivalent SaaS CRM)
- Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail
- Prior experience in a B2B SaaS or tech-enabled business
- Exposure to automation tools, scripting, or AI-based productivity tools
- Understanding of SaaS business workflows (sales funnel, revenue ops, deal cycles)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable interfacing with business users
- Good troubleshooting and technical skills
- Able to work independently
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
