Job Description

Business Analyst I

Description: Obtains and utilizes subject matter expertise with a responsibility of articulating functional/technical requirements for efforts that deliver measurable value and success for the product and Trek as a whole. Analyst is committed to developing strong relationships and partnerships with the business.

Demonstrates clear communication skills, verbal and written. Helps pod work through the Project Process. Facilitates meetings to assist the team in arriving at solutions. Excellent communication and documentation of feature requirements, decisions made, and status of work. Has basic knowledge in the areas of software development and database principles which help in understanding business requirements to be executed through technical solutions. Displays strong interviewing and analytical skills, and can work mostly independently to arrive at needed requirements. Team oriented and demonstrates ability to lead and assist team members when needed.

Duties:

• Provide Tier 1 support for customer service tickets
• JDEdwards Experience as analyst or super-user
• Basic knowledge and use of SQL for data analysis
• Beginning SSRS report writing knowledge
• Assist in requirement gathering, documentation, and meeting facilitation.
• Research solutions and assess current and future state
• Delivery of story requirements: ability to articulate and write stories according to written and verbal standards
• Clearly articulate status and decisions made during agile development process
• Identify bugs in the current system
• Basic understanding of data architecture
• Basic understanding of Project Management
• Assist team members when needed
• Move stories through the story level SDLC
• Responsible for gathering business ideas from initial brainstorm and getting those into production; in the form of an Agile story, creating mock-ups, prototypes, ad-hoc SQL queries, and other artifacts
• Proactively collaborating with stakeholders in all levels of the business
• Use a variety of tools and methods to communicate clearly with business partners, vendors, customers, and design and technology staff to analyze and identify opportunities to enhance IT and Trek Products
• Beginner knowledge of our database systems and can trouble shoot through any of our solutions with guidance
• Schedule, plan, and facilitate all meetings for the pod related to software delivery, including daily standup, work demos, project planning, work refinement, project retrospectives, and any meetings relating to the project process.
• Understanding of Atlassian suite is a plus
