Position: Business Analyst/Senior Business Analyst
The Business Analyst will be responsible for the features and shape of a particular product family at Quoreka. They will be responsible for working with Product Management team, Marketing team and Pre-Sales team to understand the market needs and involve in product roadmap evaluation along with Product Management team.
Education & Experience:
Engineering Background (MBA would be desirable)
Must Haves
- 1-3 years of experience in business analysis / product owning with a top tier software product firm with a focus on CTRM (especially in Metals/Ags commodities covering international trading business, domestic business in specific geographies and origination business), ETRM, ERP, supply chain management solutions, or financial applications
- Should have direct responsibility for coming up with software product solutions to business needs in above mentioned areas.
- Experience in implementation of any business application at least at one customer location is desirable.
- Should be creative at conceiving product solutions that allow clients to use our product more efficiently in their business.
- Must be very well conversant with data modeling and should be able to apply the knowledge to propose the data model for new or change in solution.
- Must have excellent skills for working in cross-functional teams of Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Product Support.
- Should have a working knowledge of any of the web technology, preferably J2EE.
- Knowledge of the commodities business and derivates (futures and options) would be an added advantage.
- Exposure to financial integrations, pricing engines, market data providers, risk analytics, and scheduling systems.
- Managing the product backlog
- Overseeing development stages and highlighting the risk to stakeholders.
- Acting as primary liaison and closely interacting with engineers and unblocking without any delay
- Speaking to customers and market to understand and detail requirements.
- Assimilate customer and market needs in this area; translating their requirements into product features; writing product specifications.
- Solutioning independently as well as giving directions to solution team preparing solutions for building new product features.
- Preparing / reviewing solutions including workflows, User interfaces, and business logic processing to ensure they meet the product features / specification requirements.
- Controlling the evaluation of data model of the product
- Working with Engineering in the evaluation of product features and trade off.
- Providing internal /external product support and training and contributing to product documentation.
- Involved in product design, co-ordinate in development and release process for assigned products to ensure product development based on the road map laid out by the Product management team.
- Coordinate the collection, description, analysis, and prioritization of requests for new product functionality from customers and prospects.
- Create detailed use cases, business requirements, and marketing requirements.
- Develop hands-on, in-depth knowledge of competitive products and maintain technical analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses.
- Actively participate in UAT support, feature validation, and release readiness.
- Define and track success metrics and business impact of released features.
- Coordinate beta testing of new products and features. Document and report problems and recommend solutions/improvements to program managers. Participate in product performance benchmarking activities.
- Coordinate with related product partners in implementing interfaces / integration with their products.
- Perform product demonstrations at trade shows, online seminars, and other events.
- Document answers to customer technical questions that cannot be answered by sales staff or product support specialists using existing documentation.
- Adhere to prevailing Eka’s ISMS policies and procedures while delivering the duties.
