Business Analyst (Finance Module)

About The Role: We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Business Analyst with prior experience working in finance-related domains such as banking, financial services, or with financial clients. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our ERP software tailored for educational institutions, focusing primarily on financial modules such as fee management, budgeting, accounting, payroll, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Understand and document business requirements from stakeholders across finance and administrative departments within educational institutions.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for the ERP development team.
• Work closely with product managers, developers, QA teams, and end-users to ensure seamless implementation of finance-related modules.
• Analyze existing financial processes of educational institutions and identify areas of improvement and automation using the ERP platform.
• Act as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring accurate understanding and smooth communication.
• Develop and maintain process flow documents, user stories, use cases, and wireframes as needed.
• Assist in the creation of test plans and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for finance modules.
• Stay updated with finance trends in the education sector and ensure the ERP product meets evolving needs and compliance requirements.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance /Accounting Business Administration, or a related field. MBA/PGDM preferred.
• 3 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with exposure to finance-related companies, clients, banks, or financial institutions.

Skills Required:

• Proven experience working with or implementing ERP systems, ideally in the education or finance sector.
• Strong understanding of financial workflows, ledgers, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll systems.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in tools like MS Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, and basic SQL is a plus.
• Experience in preparing BRD, FRD, and working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Prior experience with ERP implementations for schools, colleges, or universities.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance and taxation applicable to educational institutions.
• Familiarity with EdTech platforms or academic CRMs.
