This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence Test Engineer with previous exposure of data warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI). It is a techno-functional role with a primary focus on enhancing testing capabilities and best practices within the BI arena.
LCH is looking for a talented individual to innovate and support our BI product, within test automation, regression testing and performance testing areas. Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Define industry best practices in BI testing
- Testing of the data warehouse
- Testing of data report outputs
- Analysing any breaks and allocating them to the relevant SMEs for further investigation,
- Cross training of other Collateral IT testers
- Working with other teams such as regression test and performance test to ensure full coverage of the BI deliverables are covered by other areas
- Ability to clearly articulate any differences from expected behaviour to other team members, users and management if required
- Ensures all quality control tests are carried out accurately and documented in full
- Assists with continuous improvements of the automation process to minimise manual testing efforts
- Develops new tests and tools for our collateral components, APIs and services, test related CI/CD pipelines
- Develop working knowledge of the collateral application stack including tests at all levels -junit, component tests and end-to-end
- Track and communicate test results in a timely, effective, and automated manner
- Strengthen the presence of our team as an Agile centre of excellence
- Actively contribute to our continuous improvement culture.
Mandatory:
- Experience in data warehousing testing
- Significant experience in testing data report outputs such as csv, XML, JSON
- Good working knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of test management tools such as JIRA/Zephyr
- Knowledge of different phases of testing e.g. SIT, UAT, Regression, Performance
- Ability to work with engineers to investigate test failures
- Test automation.
- Previous experience testing using a batch scheduler e.g. Control-M
- Advanced or mid-level professional qualification relating to software testing or quality assurance
- Ability to manage various stakeholders’ expectations (Business Leads, Technical Leads)
- Experience of financial markets (e.g. Clearing, Trading)
- Experience using tooling such as Jenkins, Bitbucket and Ansible.
- Attention to detail, disciplined and reliable, results oriented
- Good analytical skills capacity to think outside the box/get creative to solve issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills / stakeholder management – effectively able to communicate with colleagues in QA, Development, BA teams and Business users
- Proactive, motivated individual, committed to excellence
- Strong Problem Solving / Analytical skills
- Team first mentality with the capacity to fit into a multicultural team across a minimum of 4 entities (London, NY, Paris, Bengaluru)
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent to grade 2.1 or equivalent.
