Cloud Engineer Manager

Principal Responsibilities

Team Management & Leadership:

• Manage and lead the Cloud Engineering team in India, ensuring timely delivery of projects and initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and manage team development plans.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and other teams to streamline processes and resolve technical challenges.
  
  

Technical Operations & Incident Management

• Oversee automation development, ensuring that scripts and tools improve operational efficiency.
• Manage CI/CD integration, collaborating with the Infrastructure team to maintain pipelines.
• Ensure best practices in Git usage for version control and team collaboration.
• Drive cloud performance optimization, monitoring environments for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Oversee patch management and updates, ensuring security and system stability.
• Manage the team in handling incident management, ensuring swift resolution with minimal downtime.
• Lead log analysis efforts to detect anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance.
• Ensure effective issue resolution, diagnosing and resolving cloud environment problems promptly.
• Maintain high standards in managing AWS environments, ensuring security and availability.
  
  

Escalation Handling & Stakeholder Management

• Report directly to Michele, providing regular updates on team performance and project progress.
• Handle high-level incident escalations, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Act as the primary escalation point for critical issues and ensure timely resolution.
  
  

Technical Advancement & Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, tools, and industry trends.
• Recommend improvements to cloud architectures and operational processes.
• Encourage a culture of innovation, experimentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  
  

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Oversee and maintain comprehensive technical documentation of cloud architectures, processes, and incident responses.
• Promote knowledge sharing within the team through Confluence and team meetings.
• Ensure that documentation remains current and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  
  

Position Requirements

Experience of 8+ Years is required

Cloud Technologies & Platforms

• Extensive experience managing AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda).
• Proven track record of designing and overseeing scalable and secure cloud architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  
  

Automation & Infrastructure As Code (IaC)

• Expertise in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience overseeing teams using IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience managing their implementation with DevOps teams.
  
  

Version Control & Collaboration

• Proficiency in Git for version control and experience managing Git-based workflows across teams.
• Experience driving best practices for version control, including branching strategies and code reviews.
  
  

Operating Systems & Virtualization

• Strong experience with Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat, Amazon Linux).
• Proficiency in managing virtualized environments and containerized applications.
  
  

Containerization & Orchestration: (Preferred)

• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and optimizing containerized application deployments.
  
  

Security & Compliance

• Experience implementing cloud security best practices and leading security audits.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and integrating them into cloud environments.
  
  

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Proficiency in monitoring cloud environments and driving cost-optimization strategies.
• Experience leading teams in troubleshooting and resolving performance issues.
  
  

Project Management & Collaboration Tools

• Jira: Experience using Jira for project tracking, sprint planning, and incident management.
• Confluence: Proficiency in using Confluence for documentation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
  
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management.
