Embark on a transformative journey as a Collateral Technology Full Stack Developer. At Barclays, our vision is clear – to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you will be part of the US development team and will be responsible for the development of assigned work items that support both business and platform re-architecture needs.

To be successful as a Collateral Technology Full Stack Developer, you should have experience with:

Full-stack, enterprise-level application development using object-oriented languages (C#, Python), and serverless architecture with various messaging frameworks (Kafka, MQ, Solace)

Source code management and continuous integration/delivery processes and tools such as Git, Jenkins, Chef, SonarQube, and other DevSecOps tools in a cloud environment like AWS

Developing and deploying high-volume, multi-tiered, distributed, business-critical applications

UI frameworks (Angular, React, jQuery)

Cloud technologies such as AWS

Some other highly valued skills may include:
Financial services knowledge, particularly in investment banking and collateral management

Familiarity with industry best practices in architectural methodologies and standards

Experience with distributed cache technologies (Ignite, Redis, Gemfire, etc.)

Experience with data analytics and data lakes

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is located in Whippany, New Jersey.

Minimum Salary: $75,000

Maximum Salary: $135,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
