Position- Data Engineering Architect - Consultant
Experience- 8+ Years
Location- Pune (Hybrid) / Remote
Mode of working- TPC / Consultant (4 to 6 Months)
We are looking for a Data Engineering Architect to design and build a scalable, secure, and analytics-ready HR data platform. You will lead the development of data models, ETL pipelines, and cloud infrastructure that supports multi-tenant SaaS environments for HR systems such as Employees, Jobs, Payroll, and Performance Management.
This is a critical technical role at the heart of our product, ensuring data quality, compliance, performance, and business insights readiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 8+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or similar fields.
- Strong expertise in SQL and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Proven experience with modern ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Informatica).
- Deep understanding of HR data models (employees, payroll, performance) is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with data security best practices, PII handling, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience building multi-tenant architectures in a SaaS context.
- Familiarity with BI and visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for data pipelines (CI/CD, infrastructure as code).
- Familiarity with HR tech platforms (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, BambooHR) is a plus.
- Certifications in Snowflake, Google Cloud, AWS
Key Responsibilities
- Data Modeling
- Design and maintain efficient, HR-centric data schemas (Employees, Jobs, Payroll, Performance, etc.).
- Implement historical data tracking (e.g., job changes, compensation history).
- Ensure models are analytics- and reporting-friendly.
- ETL/ELT Pipelines
- Build robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools like dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran.
- Ingest and harmonize data from multiple HR systems and third-party sources.
- Implement automated data quality, consistency, and reconciliation checks.
- Cloud Data Warehouse Architecture
- Develop on leading cloud warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
- Optimize warehouse for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Data Security & Compliance
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC).
- Ensure PII masking and support GDPR/CCPA compliance requirements.
- Maintain audit trails, data lineage, and secure data handling standards.
- Multi-Tenant SaaS Enablement
- Architect systems to securely support multiple tenants/customers.
- Build tenant-level data isolation, metadata management, and access control strategies.
- Analytics & BI Enablement
- Build materialized views, summary tables, and data marts optimized for reporting.
- Enable seamless integration with BI tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Collaborate closely with analytics and product teams to define data requirements.
