About the job:

Key responsibilities:

1. Join the Source AI team to develop deep expertise in the domain and function.
2. Work with a Gen AI-powered strategic category management platform within Operations.
3. Combine internal and external data with McKinsey's industrial expertise to support category managers' decisions.
4. Collaborate with clients globally across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
5. Develop and maintain high-performance data pipelines with Snowflake and modern data architecture.
6. Ensure data quality, manage migrations, and handle multiple Snowflake environments securely and efficiently.
7. Enhance the platform by collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting client deployment.
8. Lead analyses on key spending categories to identify opportunities for clients.
9. Work with practice leaders and experts to continuously build new functionalities and knowledge.
10. Connect with external market solutions and establish value-driven partnerships.
11. Mentor analysts on procurement analyses and solution delivery for clients.

Other Requirements:

1. 4+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years focused on Snowflake.

2. Strong proficiency in SQL (ANSI and Snowflake dialect) and Python for scripting and transformations.

3. Expertise in Snowflake features such as Warehouses, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Secure Views.

4. Proven ability to design and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Snowflake and Amazon S3.

5. Skilled in optimizing Snowflake performance with clustering, materialized views, and query profiling.

6. Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake using tools like GitHub Actions.

7. Certified SnowPro Core and/or SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer.

8. Knowledge of data governance frameworks, including PII handling, GDPR, and HIPAA.

9. Proficient in working with semi-structured data formats (JSON, Avro, Parquet) in Snowflake.

10. Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools and downstream applications securely.

11. Demonstrated success in leading data migration from legacy systems to Snowflake.

12. Strong understanding of data quality frameworks, including validation and anomaly detection.
