Reinsurance Solutions Analytics offers clients industry-leading Catastrophe Management, Impact Forecasting, Rating Agency Practice, Product Development and Research, Actuarial & ReMetrica support.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and extract data from multiple sources into a common format.
- Design, develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipeline.
- Implement data integration solutions to ingest and process large volumes of data from various sources including but not limited to climate data and various open-source data.
- Perform data validation, testing, monitoring, data exploration and feature engineering.
- Collaborate with Data Scientist, Data Analyst, and other team members to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data warehouses.
- Implement and maintain ETL processes.
- Work with cloud-based data storages and processing services (e.g, AWS, Azure etc)
- Support Aon reinsurance research team with their activities and develop novel products.
- Become familiar with Aon’s internal workflow tools and integrate bespoke research workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with ETL tools and frameworks
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Organised with an ability to manage multiple projects proficiently.
- Willingness to understand Aon’s internal workflows and the research that the team undertakes.
