The Impact: This role is essential for the Market Intelligence Group of S&P as it ensures the development of new software solutions and continuous improvement and stability of our existing applications. Role will enable our clients with a seamless user experience and access to up-to-date data, ultimately bolstering their confidence in our services and reinforcing our competitive position in the market.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining data architectures, including databases and large-scale processing systems, to support high levels of data availability and quality.
• Participate in team efforts to implement data projects, providing support in data storage structures and data processing techniques.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and help in translating them into technical specifications for effective data solutions.
• Adhere to best practices in data management and governance, maintaining awareness of data privacy and security policies.
• Contribute to the identification, design, and implementation of process improvements, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.

What We're Looking For:

• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or related fields: Solid experience in writing efficient SQL queries and designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, with an understanding of performance and scalability.
• Familiarity with Python, Airflow, AWS: Experience of these technologies and proven ability to learn more about data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or others.
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments: Capability to work across various technology stacks and operating systems.
• Commitment to code quality: Involved in enhancing code quality, following best practices, and understanding architectural decisions for scalable data infrastructure.
• Teamwork and Agile methodology: Demonstrated ability in Agile development environments, good communication skills, and willingness to learn from senior engineers.
• Support and Collaboration: Ability to support and learn from senior team members, contributing to data engineering projects and initiatives.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Basic understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and data lakes.
• Experience with Big Data technologies like Apache Spark or Hadoop ecosystem.
• Familiarity with data transformation frameworks such as DBT.
