What You Will Own
You will be the first data hire, No existing stack, no legacy constraints. You choose the tools.
You will own the end-to-end data backbone of Learnyst.
From event capture to pipelines to warehouse to modeling to metric definitions to BI enablement.
No silos. No handoffs. Full ownership.

Responsibilities
1. Build the Pipes. Make Them Unbreakable.
• Design and build reliable data pipelines from application systems
• Capture product events across:
• Buyer and admin actions such as course creation and learner management
• Engagement and content usage
• Payments, subscriptions, renewals, and churn
• Ensure automated, real-time or near real-time data flows
• Eliminate manual Excel workflows
If data breaks, you fix it before anyone notices.

2. Design the Single Source of Truth
• Architect and manage our centralized data warehouse
• Structure data so it is clean, logical, and future-proof
• Define and standardize core SaaS metrics:
• Activation
• Retention
• Engagement
• Revenue
• Churn
• Ensure every team refers to the same numbers consistently
No metric ambiguity. No number conflicts.

3. Make Data Reliable by Default
• Build validation checks and monitoring systems
• Detect anomalies automatically
• Fix root causes, not symptoms
• Improve data observability continuously
Your goal is zero trust issues in data.

4. Enable High-Speed Teams
• Partner directly with Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Leadership
• Translate business questions into structured, reusable datasets
• Reduce turnaround time for data requests
• Build reusable data layers for dashboards
Your work should reduce friction across the company.

5. Think Beyond Reporting
• Help analyze the full buyer journey: Signup to Activation to Engagement to Revenue to Retention
• Enable cohort, funnel, and lifecycle analysis
• Support experimentation and growth initiatives
• Continuously improve our KPI framework
We do not want static dashboards.
We want decision velocity.

What We Expect From You
• 2 to 4 years building data pipelines and working with production data
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to transform messy data into structured models
• Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar
• Experience building pipelines using custom scripts or tools such as Airflow or dbt
• Experience preparing datasets for BI tools such as Power BI, Zoho Analytics, or Tableau
• Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and product analytics
• High ownership mindset
• Comfort working in ambiguity
• Ability to explain data clearly to non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with GA4 or event-based tracking systems
• Experience in SaaS, EdTech, or LMS products
• Familiarity with cohort, funnel, and lifecycle analysis
• Exposure to experimentation frameworks
• Understanding of modern data stack practices
