Data Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a passionate Data Engineer with a background in IT technology. A successful candidate will be able to understand the business goal from the requester, use enterprise tools to transform and join datasets together and validate the outcome accordingly.

Job Description
Data Engineer with ETL (Export, Transform, Load) experience needed to develop, test and implement ETL jobs and Apps to be able to create an output relevant to the business request.

Responsibilities
* Develop ETL workflows and Apps
* Communicate with business, finding optimal solutions to open issues quickly
* Work closely with departmental leads to turn business requirements into technical specifications
* Validate data transformations and data migration and perform end-to-end data validation for ETL
* Build, test and deploy analytics apps leveraging enterprise tools including Alteryx, KNIME, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power ON, Snowflake
* Perform ad hoc data quality checks prior to deployment
* Assist in performing data and system testing on data tools and platforms when needed
* Participate in regular meetings and ongoing communications with business stakeholders, IT, BI and analytics teams
* Acquire data from internal or external data sources and maintain databases or data systems
* Interpret data, analyse and validate results
* Identify & suggest key areas to improve Intelligent Demand Program

Qualifications & skills
* Experience in data preparation, ETL and data integration, including complex joins and transformations
* Hands-on experience or understanding of virtualisation tools (Denodo), analytics tools (Alteryx, KNIME), Microsoft low-code solutions (Power Automate, Power Apps) and cloud platforms (Snowflake, MS Synapse, MS Azure, MS Fabric, ADLS2, …)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to discuss with the requester to understand the commercial goal
* Team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
* Ability to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing requirement
* Ability to prioritize and proactive ask for help
* Strong analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot issues, analyse the cause, quickly come up with the possible solution(s), document the changes, and communicate the change to the team
* Technically curious and savvy, willing and able to learn new technologies and tools in short period of time
* Organized, detail oriented and process driven
* Proven working experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst
