As a Data Engineer Intern , you will be responsible for building automation and leading-edge production code implementation around Data ingestion and Data processing applications. Specifically, you will work with Sr. Data engineers/Lead data engineers to ensure our global Data systems are production-grade, scalable and use the latest state of the art technology and methodology . You will be given creative freedom and opportunities to work on advanced Data problems, such as reinforcement learning and a self-serve Data platform. You will do hands-on code development and interact with business stakeholders. At ResMed, we are dedicated to a diverse team and inclusive work environment.

Infrastructure Development: Assist in building scalable, high-performance infrastructure for delivering actionable business insights from various raw data sources.
Analytical Solutions: Support the development of batch and real-time analytical solutions, prototypes, and tools to enable data scientists and analysts.
Data Processing: Collaborate with team members on projects involving data collection, management, analysis, and visualization.
Scalable Architecture: Contribute to the design of robust and scalable data architectures that align with the organization’s business goals.
Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to understand project requirements and share results clearly.
Problem Solving: Participate in brainstorming sessions to explore multiple solutions for complex problems and contribute to decision-making processes.
Continuous Improvement: Learn to identify areas for improvement and suggest enhancements to technology stacks or processes.
Let's talk about qualifications and experience
Pursuing a Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Basic understanding of designing and building scalable solutions for modern platforms (Big Data/Relational/NoSQL/OLAP).
Familiarity with Python or Scala programming languages.
Awareness of relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
Exposure to distributed computing concepts, data modeling, and data ingestion/processing (ETL/ELT).
Understanding of Spark architecture and data processing.
Awareness of dimensional modeling principles.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with tools like Airflow, REST API development, or Scala.
Awareness of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and DevOps practices (CICD).
Basic experience or coursework related to public cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
General knowledge of data quality, governance, or containerization concepts (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
