Job Title: Data Scientist

Overview: Smiths Detection is seeking a Data Scientist with strong expertise in AI/ML/DL to contribute as a Machine Learning Engineer. The role focuses on developing and enhancing the technical architecture of the iCMORE product within the Automated Detection group, supporting global security operations through advanced data science solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement ML systems, algorithms, and applications
• Develop data pipelines, perform statistical analysis, and fine‑tune models
• Conduct experiments, train/retrain systems, and extend ML frameworks
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and cross‑functional teams
• Stay updated on AI/ML advancements and apply them effectively

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Strong coding skills in Python, C, C++
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn)
• Knowledge of data structures, modeling, probability, and statistics
• Analytical problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and global mindset
