Overview
Responsibilities
- Mathematical Modelling: Develop mathematical models and algorithms to solve optimization problems related to supply chain management, resource allocation, scheduling, network optimization, and other relevant domains.
- Formulate problems as linear programming, integer programming, mixed-integer programming, or constraint programming models.
- Data Analysis: Work with large datasets, conduct exploratory data analysis, and apply statistical and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights. Identify patterns and trends in the data that can be used to improve optimization models and algorithms.
- Model Implementation: Implement mathematical models and algorithms using programming languages such as Python. Develop efficient and scalable code to solve complex optimization problems.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of optimization models and algorithms by conducting experiments and simulations. Identify areas for improvement and propose modifications to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable OR solutions. Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's, Master's, or M. Tech in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Maths.
- Operations Research Expertise: Good to have.
- Gurobi Proficiency: Good to have.
- Data Science Skills: Solid understanding of data science principles, including statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
- Problem-solving and Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically to break down complex problems into manageable components. Attention to detail and a strong aptitude for identifying patterns and trends in data.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with applying OR and optimization techniques in relevant industries such as supply chain management, logistics, transportation, and manufacturing.
