Data Scientist (Supply Chain / Forecasting) – 2 to 3 Years

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain forecasting models for food and supply consumption using historical and operational data.
• Analyze vessel route patterns, voyage duration, crew size, and seasonal trends to predict demand.
• Identify opportunities to reduce food waste and optimize provisioning strategies.
• Analyze crew consumption and feedback data to recommend menu improvements.
• Develop dashboards and automated reports for key KPIs such as:
• Cost per crew member per day
• Waste percentage
• Inventory turnover
• Supplier performance metrics
• Work closely with procurement, operations, and catering teams to translate analytics into actionable solutions.
• Identify slow-moving inventory items and predict shortages before they impact operations.
• Support data cleaning, validation, and integration from multiple internal systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a Data Scientist / Data Analyst / Business Analyst (Analytics).
• Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and model building.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL for database queries.
• Experience in predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
• Strong understanding of time series forecasting / demand planning concepts.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau / Looker.
• Ability to explain data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Fresher

Pay: ₹511,850.94 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
