As a Senior Database Developer, you will join our Integration Engineering team, where you'll focus on building high-performance, scalable data import pipelines. This role involves working with MS SQL Server stored procedures to integrate large volumes of external learning records into the Degreed platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex stored procedures for large-scale data ingestion.
• Implement delta logic (insert, update, delete, skip) to track changes efficiently.
• Ensure transactional integrity and handle rollback/commit scenarios safely.
• Build logging and monitoring mechanisms to track ingestion performance and failures.
• Modernize legacy data import logic with batching, indexing, retry handling, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve pipeline efficiency and scalability.
  
  

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience with MS SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Deep understanding of stored procedures and high-volume data handling.
• Experience with transaction management, batch processing, and error handling.
• Exposure to monitoring/logging tools and data observability practices.
• Familiarity with ETL patterns and external system integrations.

• Experience with Azure (Service Bus, Data Factory)
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture or modernizing legacy database code
• Experience in LMS or enterprise data integration environments
