We’re looking for a Data Engineer at EY GDS. You will work on designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and solutions using modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, deploy, and manage data workflows that meet business needs and leverage best practices in data engineering and cloud technologies. EY Risk and Compliance Engineering is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services that leverage deep industry experience with strong functional capability and product knowledge. The Risk and Compliance Engineering (RCE) practice works with clients to analyse, formulate, design, mobilize and drive digital transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing digital challenges and opportunities surround business strategy, customer, growth, profit optimization, innovation, technology strategy, and digital transformation. We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization. Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions, EY’s RCE team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Data Handling: Work with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• ETL Workflows: Develop and maintain ETL workflows using PySpark or equivalent technologies.
• Data Pipeline Development: Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets.
• Platform Implementation: Work on data solutions using Databricks or Snowflake
• Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
• Data Quality and Compliance: Ensure data quality, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Domain-Specific Solutions: Contribute to domain-specific solutions for AML, fraud detection, and risk analytics.
  
  

• SQL and ETL: Hands-on experience in SQL queries, data handling, and basic ETL development.
• PySpark Exposure: Practical knowledge of PySpark for data processing.
• Data Platforms: Exposure to Databricks or Snowflake environments.
• Data Warehousing: Understanding of fundamental data warehousing concepts (schemas, joins, basic modeling).
• Domain Awareness: Interest in or exposure to Financial Crime, AML, or Fraud detection domains.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in teams with strong communication skills.
  
  

• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• CI/CD Practices: Exposure to CI/CD practices for data engineering.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  
  

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
