Overview
As a DevOps Engineer II, you will be a key player in bridging the gap between development and operations. You will manage and scale our cloud infrastructure, refine our CI/CD pipelines, and ensure the reliability and security of our production environments. You are expected to be a self-starter who can take ownership of projects from design to implementation.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- CI/CD Optimization: Own and improve the automated deployment pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and secure code delivery.
- System Reliability: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot outages, and participate in an on-call rotation to maintain high availability.
- Containerization: Manage and orchestrate containerized workloads (Docker/Kubernetes) across development and production environments.
- Security and Compliance: Implement "DevSecOps" practices, ensuring vulnerability scanning, secret management, and identity access management (IAM) are integrated into the workflow.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers to optimize application performance and provide guidance on best practices for cloud-native development.
- Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in a DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering role.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to root-cause complex distributed systems issues.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Cloud Platforms-- GCP / AWS (professional-level certification is a plus).
- Orchestration-- Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS), Docker, Helm.
- IaC and Config-- Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or Chef.
- CI/CD Tools-- GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- Scripting-- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Monitoring-- Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
- Networking: Understanding of VPCs, DNS, Load Balancers, and Firewalls.
- Growth Mindset: A desire to stay current with the rapidly evolving DevOps ecosystem.
- Ownership: You don't just "fix" things; you build systems to prevent them from breaking again.
- Collaboration: You enjoy pair programming on infrastructure and helping others learn.
