Role: DevOps Engineer for Data Engineering Team

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS). This role involves collaborating across teams to automate deployments, monitor infrastructure, and ensure reliability and security of cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) to ensure security, scalability, and high availability.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Monitor system performance and reliability using tools like CloudWatch, ELK stack, and automate responses to operational issues.
• Manage containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate infrastructure and deployment processes seamlessly.
• Implement security best practices including VPC configuration, IAM roles and policies, security groups, and compliance standards (SOC2, ISO 27001).
• Conduct infrastructure cost optimization and perform regular audits and compliance checks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and network issues in a timely manner.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and security trends to continuously improve infrastructure and deployment standards.
• Document architecture, processes, and incident responses to support operational excellence.
  
  
  

Desired Skills & Experience

• 3-6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering, preferably with AWS.
• Strong expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, CloudFormation, Terraform, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, ECS, and SQS.
• Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Proficient in container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Good Linux system administration skills including shell scripting (Bash, Python, Perl).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, security groups, and load balancers.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) and cloud security practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work in Agile/Scrum teams, and collaborate well with cross-functional groups.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude toward operational excellence.
