Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer III, you will function as a software-first platform engineer with deep ownership of infrastructure, reliability, and developer productivity. This role is for engineers who design and code systems to prevent incidents, not those who only react to them.

You’ll work closely with backend, security, and product engineering teams to build self-serve, automated, and resilient platforms that scale with the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and own production-grade cloud infrastructure using code (IaC-first approach)
• Design and build highly reliable CI/CD systems for fast and safe deployments
• Write programs, tooling, and automation to improve availability, scalability, and recovery
• Lead efforts on observability: metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting strategies
• Own and improve incident response, root cause analysis, and prevention mechanisms
• Partner with engineering teams to improve system design and operational maturity
• Drive best practices around security, access control, secrets, and compliance
• Optimize infrastructure for performance, resilience, and cost efficiency
• Mentor DevOps and backend engineers on reliability and production readiness

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–8 years of experience in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering roles
• Strong programming ability in one or more languages (Python, Go, or Node.js preferred)
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
• Experience operating production systems at scale
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and distributed systems
• Experience designing high-availability and fault-tolerant systems
• Ability to debug complex production issues across infrastructure and application layers

Good to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Exposure to fintech, payments, or regulated systems
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling
• Familiarity with security reviews, audits, or compliance workflows
• Prior startup or scale-up experience
