Overview
You're the type of DevOps engineer who ensures systems stay operational before problems arise, not just after. If you find satisfaction in dissecting complex legacy infrastructure, architecting more efficient solutions, and eliminating manual processes through automation, this opportunity is for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in high-pressure scenarios where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products—each with unique characteristics—as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while establishing monitoring and automation systems that prevent incidents before they occur.
Most organizations ask you to support a single technology stack. We're asking you to consolidate and refine multiple stacks without causing disruptions. Where other companies separate databases, we take a different approach, strategically merging them to maximize cost efficiency and operational manageability across our portfolio. This position isn't suited for someone content with maintaining existing systems; it's designed for someone who looks at a disjointed, inconsistent infrastructure and immediately begins planning improvements.
Your ownership will extend from infrastructure migrations through AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost reduction initiatives. This includes identifying and resolving system failures, orchestrating smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and using AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of your workload. You'll possess genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure—no prolonged waiting for sign-offs from stakeholders disconnected from technical realities.
If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys transforming complex systems into reliable operations, this role will challenge and engage you. If you require constant guidance, struggle with diverse technology environments, or prefer greenfield projects over bringing structure to disorder, this won't be the right fit. If you're prepared to own a high-impact infrastructure position with opportunities to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application now!
What You Will Be Doing
- Orchestrating and executing sophisticated infrastructure changes, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift-and-shift migration projects
- Creating and deploying monitoring strategies and developing automation for monitoring systems, software releases, and operational processes
- Conducting system monitoring activities, managing system backups, responding to incidents, executing database migrations, configuring database systems, and optimizing costs
- Spending time in Jira and never-ending status updates - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not just document issues
- Keeping legacy systems running forever - you'll be authorized to implement substantial improvements
- Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll hold the authority to implement immediate corrections during incidents
- Operating within restrictive technical boundaries - this position demands both wide-ranging knowledge and deep technical expertise
- Justifying budget requests for essential infrastructure improvements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment
- Advance reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio through implementation of comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
- Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience with other clouds alone is insufficient)
- Proficiency scripting with Python and Bash for routine administrative operations
- Track record managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Strong Linux systems administration expertise
