Description

Work multi-functionally with system engineers, software/firmware engineers and hardware engineering teams towards building power efficient wireless modems. Design, implement and optimize power software and firmware. Support chip bring up, analyse trace dumps, characterise power consumption, identify and drive power reduction methods across wireless use cases. Demonstrate and explain cross functionally system power/performance trade-offs. Influence hardware design specifications of future wireless modems and deliver a roadmap of innovative and scalable software solutions. Apple’s Cellular Software team is seeking passionate, highly motivated and focused engineers to work across layers on groundbreaking cellular technologies. The position involves identifying and/or developing core cellular technologies that solves everyday problems for customers using iPhone, iPad, Watch and other wireless product lines. Minimum Qualifications

Key Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in low-level software development for cellular modem products
• Strong design and implementation experience in power management software, power flows and modem power drivers
• Demonstrated skills in software design, programming (using C, C++), scripting (Python preferred, Perl) and debugging
• Exposure to 4G/5G power sensitive use cases, power reduction methods, booting concepts and RTOS knowledge is a plus
• Communicative and collaborative across different teams and time zones

Education & Experience

Bachelors or Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
