The Position
Software Engineer
Roche Information Solutions (RIS) is charged with building a modern software stack that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data to intelligently process and present this data to healthcare professionals which allows for improved patient care. We are seeking candidates with an understanding of modern SaaS products and data engineering paradigms. You will play an essential role in building and scaling our data integration platform and SaaS business. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to product development and architectural discussions while fostering significant personal and professional growth. You will work closely with a team of world-class doctors and researchers, contributing to impactful advancements in global healthcare delivery. Your expertise will drive the creation of scalable, efficient data solutions that empower our platform to transform healthcare data into actionable insights, enhancing patient outcomes worldwide.
The Position:
As a Software Engineer, you will be a key team contributor, applying knowledge of development principles and practices to implement software systems. You will contribute to the development of a cutting-edge data engineering product, focusing on robust data pipelines, scalable data architecture, and seamless data integration. General responsibilities include contributing to design conception, development, code review, and testing of the core software stack. This is an opportunity to contribute to the architecture and roadmap.

- Software Development: This is a hands-on software development position where you will actively contribute to the design, architecture, and delivery of software components and modules. With 2-4 years of experience, your growing expertise will be valuable in understanding and contributing to intricate design processes, ensuring robust, scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-quality solutions
- Leadership: Seeks mentorship and develops on technical concepts; contributes to a culture that values technical excellence together with support and compassion for individuals
- BS / MS in Computer Science or in a related area
- 1-4 years of hands-on experience in production coding. Remember, there are lives at the other end of our code, so it is all about the quality of code
- Commitment to agile practices and scalable architecture
- Ability to understand complex workflows and develop innovative solutions to solve difficult problems
- Good understanding of the microservices architecture and preferably a hands-on experience with design, development and deployment of microservices based systems
- Hands on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring(boot) and good understanding of other frameworks and tools in Java ecosystem
- Hands on experience in building REST based APIs and event-driven asynchronous request processing systems
- Hands on experience with SQL and NoSQL(MongoDB) databases
- Experienced in Agile methods for both delivery and operations
- Experience in Cloud (AWS) preferred
- Experience in Apache Camel preferred
- Experience in Mulesoft (integration platform) preferred
- Experience in building large scale distributed, fault-tolerant systems preferred
- Master in CS, Engineering (Preferred)
- Experience in Healthcare tech, standards, and workflows (e.g. HL7, FHIR)
