Job Role: Product Test Leads
Test Planning and Strategy
Work closely with Portfolio tests leads to allocate testing resources efficiently to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
Test Design and Execution
Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure alignment and address concerns.
Test Automation
Stay updated on emerging testing tools and technologies from the Testing Practice to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Compliance and Standards
Ensure adherence to the CTE Testing Framework and compliance with CTE testing standards.
Collaboration and Integration
Work closely with development and operations teams to integrate testing seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.
Adjust testing priorities and strategies to accommodate changing project needs.

Job Descriptions:
Job Role: Product Test Leads
Test Planning and Strategy
- Lead the Product Testing team in developing and implementing a comprehensive Product Testing Strategy (PTS), Testing Automation Architecture (TAA), and non-functional testing approach by selecting and applying appropriate methodologies, tools, and resources.
- Maintain and update the Test Strategy for each Program Increment (PI).
- Define and manage a Deployment Model for onboarding clients/applications and identifying testing support requirements.
- Contribute to the definition of the development lifecycle and release management process to ensure testing aligns with business needs.
- Engage in demand intake activities to determine testing support needs for solution plans.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of testers, ensuring they are motivated, trained, and equipped to perform effectively.
- Ensure consistency and reusability in automation frameworks and testing strategies.
- Ensure that the application meets adequate testing coverage and that potential issues are identified and addressed early in the development cycle.
- Align testing coverage with CT standards and best practices.
- Prepare product testing coverage and results for handover to the UAT team.
Work closely with Portfolio tests leads to allocate testing resources efficiently to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
Test Design and Execution
- Oversee the design and execution of test cases, scripts, and procedures, ensuring comprehensive test scenario coverage.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Technical Leads to:
- Align processes for shift-left testing, automation, and CI/CD.
- Participate early in product discussions.
- Align testing automation with product architecture.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies and collaborate on User Story Acceptance Criteria and Sprint Capacity estimations.
- Manage the defect lifecycle from detection to resolution.
- Review UAT and production defects, conduct defect triage meetings, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for continuous improvement.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the testing process proactively.
- Report automation status, testing results, and potential risks to the Portfolio Lead and share insights with the testing team.
Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure alignment and address concerns.
Test Automation
- Implement an automation strategy, oversee branching strategies, review pipeline execution, and run scripts locally as needed.
- Ensure consistency and reusability in automation frameworks and testing strategies.
- Ensure automation testing standards are being followed in the product.
- Oversee ADO Testing Dashboards, scorecards, audit checklists, and other reports as required by leadership.
- Ensure the team diligently updates the Testing Scorecard, weekly metrics, and other requested reports.
Stay updated on emerging testing tools and technologies from the Testing Practice to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Compliance and Standards
Ensure adherence to the CTE Testing Framework and compliance with CTE testing standards.
Collaboration and Integration
Work closely with development and operations teams to integrate testing seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.
- Business Focus
- Ensure the testing approach aligns with business expectations and requirements.
Adjust testing priorities and strategies to accommodate changing project needs.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure all scorecard metrics remain green.
- Address capacity issues or blockers by communicating with PMs, Engineering Leads, and Portfolio Leads via email.
- Test Completion Report
- Create a test completion report for all releases using the latest TCR template and obtain approval from the Portfolio Test Lead.
- Communicate leave plans to the product team and Portfolio Test Lead.
- Send a calendar invite to the Portfolio Test Lead for planned leaves.
- For unplanned leaves, notify the Portfolio Lead and product team via email or, if unable, inform a counselor or the Portfolio Lead.
- Schedule biweekly meetings with Portfolio Leads to discuss product updates and progress.
- Attend Test Lead meetings consistently, obtain updates if a meeting is missed.
