Front-End Developer - London Stock Exchange Group

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Front-End Developer to join our Engineering Team within Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP), Corporate Technology (CT). As a senior-level developer, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our internal developer portal, focusing on delivering exceptional user experiences for our development community. You will apply your expertise in ReactJS and TypeScript to create intuitive and engaging interfaces.

• Develop and maintain user-facing features using ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and visually appealing interfaces.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and provide constructive feedback.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Write unit tests and debug applications to ensure reliability and performance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and industry trends.
• Create and maintain user documentation.
  
  
  

• Professional experience in front-end development.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ReactJS, and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web standards.
• Experience integrating front-end collaborate with backend services via RESTful APIs. Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams
  
  
  

• Experience with UI/UX design principles and collaboration with design teams.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
• Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme).
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web applications.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and accepted methodologies.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  
  
  

• Experience with UX design and user research methodologies.
• Understanding of security principles and accepted methodologies.
• Experience with Backstage.io.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

• Expertise in front-end and back-end technologies
• Designing and developing software applications from conception to deployment .
• Participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including architecture design, testing, and performance evaluation.
• Conducting code reviews and ensuring high standards of code quality and maintainability.
• Strong knowledge of back-end languages and frameworks
• Proficiency in debugging and optimizing code
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and efficient code
• Analyses infrastructure requirements and designs the architecture for central or distributed processing to meet user requirements.
• Creates, applies and implements technologies to deliver and produce services with minimal human intervention, to improve the efficiency, reliability and speed tasks.
• Develops, tests and maintains software applications and related programs and procedures; demonstrates creativity and innovation using available software development tools and following design requirements.
• Creates and maintains documentation to describe the system and its parts, including requirements documents, design decisions, architecture descriptions, program source code and support documentation.
• Possesses depth of technical expertise, knowledge of technologies and design, development and implementation of technologies.
• Possesses knowledge of features and facilities for integration, and communication among applications, databases and technology platforms to bring together different components and form a fully functional solution to a business problem.
• Knowledge of all stages of software development, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Knowledge of security principles and accepted methodologies to protect applications from vulnerabilities
• Shows ability to come up with new ideas and novel approaches to problems and establish solutions through different methods.
• Partners with clients and resolves issues by diagnosing problems, determining possible resolutions and implementing effective solutions
• Defines a problem, generates solutions, and evaluates and identifies the best solution to overcome the problem.
