Software Requirements
Required software proficiency:
- Java (version 8 or later)
- Java frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, Struts
- Development tools: Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse
- Database systems: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server
- Version control: Git
- Build tools: Maven, Gradle
- Front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, React as a plus)
- Continuous Integration tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (familiarity)
- Develop, test, and maintain comprehensive Java applications, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and QA teams to create solutions that fulfill business needs.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with an emphasis on best practices and coding standards.
- Debug and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure system stability.
- Contribute to the design and architecture discussions for new features and system improvements.
- Review code and provide constructive feedback to team members to improve code quality.
- Stay informed about new technologies, trends, and best practices in Java and full-stack development.
- Assist in designing database schemas, implementing data models, and optimizing data access.
- Follow Agile methodologies for planning, execution, and delivery of tasks.
Programming Languages:
- Required: Java (v8+), JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3
- Preferred: TypeScript, modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular)
- Required: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server
- Preferred: Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Preferred: Familiarity with deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Required: Spring Framework, Hibernate, Struts
- Preferred: Additional libraries such as Bootstrap, Redux
- IDEs: IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse
- Build & Dependency Management: Maven, Gradle
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent
- Development practices: Agile, Scrum
- Understanding of authentication standards (OAuth, JWT) and secure coding practices
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Java development, including full-stack responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing web applications using Java frameworks.
- Proven experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience collaborating within Agile development environments.
- Exposure to cloud deployment and DevOps practices will be advantageous.
- Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Write, review, and maintain Java code for multiple projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues to deliver stable, high-performing applications.
- Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams during planning, development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Conduct code reviews, adhere to coding standards, and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Test applications for performance, security, and usability; incorporate feedback for enhancements.
- Document technical designs, code procedures, and system configurations.
- Keep pace with emerging technologies and recommend improvements or new approaches.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives typical of Agile workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Java certification(s) (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Proven professional experience in full-stack Java application development.
- Experience with database design, queries, and optimization.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and web security standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and adapt to changing project priorities.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality, defect-free outputs.
- Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and accountability.
