Gen AI Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on AI Developer with 1–4 years of experience to join our fast-growing AI engineering team. You’ll be part of a group delivering enterprise-grade GenAI solutions, AI agents, and cloud-native AI services using cutting-edge techniques including prompt engineering, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and MLOps.

You’ll collaborate with senior AI engineers and architects, building scalable, intelligent applications that drive business impact across industries using OCI, Python, and LLM-based systems.

Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design, build, and deploy innovative applications utilizing Gen AI technologies such as RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) based chatbots or agents. Develop scalable solutions that meet the requirements of critical business applications.
• Language Model Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in language models, NLP techniques, and related key concepts. Stay updated with the latest advancements in language modeling and incorporate them into application development processes.
• Prompt Engineering: Utilize prompt engineering techniques to improve the accuracy and performance of language models. Develop strategies to optimize prompt design for specific applications and use cases.
• Model Evaluation and Testing: Evaluate the performance of language models, understand relevant metrics, and test model outcomes rigorously. Develop automated testing frameworks to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of deployed models.
• Deployment and Automation: Automate the testing and deployment processes of language models to production environments. Ensure smooth integration with existing systems and frameworks.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to build and deploy applications. Leverage OCI services to create scalable and reliable frameworks for language model-based applications.
  
  
  

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2–6 years of experience in Python development with exposure to ML/AI pipelines.
• Hands-on familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI Agent orchestration frameworks.
• Experience building solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) including Functions, OKE, and storage services.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Cohere, etc.), and embeddings.
• Proficiency with SQL, REST APIs, and containerized development (Docker/K8s).
• A passion for continuous learning, prototyping, and implementing state-of-the-art GenAI capabilities.

Overall, the ideal candidate for the AI Developer role at Oracle GSC should have a strong educational background, significant professional experience in data science and related fields, proficiency in relevant technical skills and tools, and key competencies in communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. Additionally, familiarity with specific industry domains and advanced techniques in AI/ML is desirable.

Evaluation Criteria:

• Proficiency in programming languages will be tested through coding exercises and technical interviews.
• Usecase presentations will be required to evaluate the candidate's ability to translate business problems into actionable insights and solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in deploying machine learning models and managing model lifecycles will be assessed through case studies and real-world scenarios.
  
  
  

Responsibilities

Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices. Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and configures detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and deliver AI Agents using GenAI frameworks, orchestrated through Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable multi-step reasoning and tool invocation.
• Engineer prompt-based workflows, integrating LLMs with enterprise applications through REST APIs and OCI components.
• Develop and deploy AI models on OCI Functions, containerize them using OKE, and scale them through automated pipelines.
• Contribute to GenAI use case delivery across natural language querying, document intelligence, and process automation.
• Support MLOps practices for model versioning, continuous deployment, and monitoring in production.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and manage integration with structured data sources.
• Participate in system design, performance tuning, and end-user experience optimization for AI features.
