About the job:

We are looking for an experienced iOS app developer to lead the development of our iPhone app from early MVP through production scale. You will own the iOS client end-to-end, working closely with backend and AI engineers to deliver a polished, reliable, and performant experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys audio systems, streaming data, and real-time UX, and wants to build a product people rely on daily.

Key Responsibilities:

A. iOS app development
1. Build and maintain a high-quality native iOS app using Swift and SwiftUI
2. Design an offline-first architecture (local storage, sync, background uploads)
3. Implement robust app state handling (recording, uploading, processing, ready)

B. Audio & real-time features
1. Implement audio recording using AVAudioEngine / AVAudioRecorder
2. Stream audio data in real time for live transcription
3. Handle audio interruptions, backgrounding, and long recordings gracefully
4. Optimize audio quality, compression, and battery usage
5. Real-Time UX
6. Display live transcription while recording
7. Handle partial/streaming results and UI updates smoothly
8. Design clear UX for speaker labels, edits, and transcript refinement

C. Networking & sync
1. Integrate with backend APIs (authentication, metadata, uploads)
2. Implement resumable background uploads
3. Securely handle tokens and authenticated requests
4. Sync transcripts, summaries, and edits across devices

D. Quality & performance
1. Write clean, testable, maintainable Swift code
2. Monitor crashes, performance, and edge cases
3. Collaborate on app instrumentation and analytics
