Job Description

I&T Collaboration Senior Platform Engineer (Power Platform) – Bangalore (Hybrid)

Position Purpose

The I&T Collaboration Senior Platform Engineer is an established technical leader that specializes in the design, development, operation, and optimisation of our cloud-based services that underpin our messaging and collaboration platforms, namely Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive.

These platforms are complex and enable the internal Brambles business to function.

Working both autonomously and in collaboration with other technical teams, this role will take the lead on any exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive related initiatives and will use their initiative to design, develop and maintain scalable and reliable platform solutions, driving idea generation and implementing solutions, working with, internal stakeholders, external technology vendors and managed service providers.

Using industry best practices relating to encryption and authentication, this person is responsible for the safeguarding of the platform, protecting data integrity from both design and platform governance perspectives.

This role will report to the I&T Collaboration Lead.

Major/Key Accountabilities

• Operations: Successful running of the I&T Collaboration Platform
• Governance and Compliance: Ensuring that all services underpinned by the I&T Collaboration Platform are correctly governed and are compliant, liaising with the compliance, legal and risk internal teams.
• Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of scalable and robust platform solutions.
• Platform Integration: Manage third party integrations to enhance platform functionality, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
• Capability Planning: Developing the broader capability roadmap for the I&T Collaboration Platform, working with senior stakeholders and taking the lead in architectural thinking.
• Change Management: Driving the change and adoption strategy, managing any third parties that we may choose to engage in delivery,
• Optimisation: Driving optimisation outcomes for the I&T Collaboration Platform
• Vendor Management: Effective management of 3rd party vendors who supply technologies that underpin the platform.
• Stakeholder Management: Managing relationships with wider technology professionals both withing the industry and within the different business units of Brambles. Collaborating with cross-functional teams when designing and developing the platform.
• Collaboration and Communication: Influencing the evolution of Generative AI based digital services through close working and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Innovation: Continuously exploring new features and updates and related technologies to enhance the platform's capabilities and drive innovation within the organization including the management of technical roadmaps.
• Support and Coaching: Provide training and support to team members relating to platform development and industry best practices.
  
  

• Data Security and Privacy: Ensuring that sensitive data is protected, and that the platform complies with data privacy regulations can be complex. This includes managing access controls and preventing data breaches.
• Content Management and Data Governance: Effectively managing the vast amount of data and content generated by the platform can be challenging. This involves setting up proper data governance frameworks and ensuring data quality.
• Ethical Usage: Ensuring that the platform is used ethically and responsibly is crucial. This includes avoiding biases in AI outputs and ensuring that the platform's use aligns with organisational values and ethical standards.
• Infrastructure Requirements: Maintaining the necessary infrastructure to support the platform’s operations can be demanding. This includes ensuring that the platform has sufficient computational resources and that it integrates seamlessly with existing systems.
• Employee Training and Adoption: Training employees to effectively use the platform and driving adoption across the organisation can be challenging. This involves creating comprehensive training programs and addressing any resistance to change.
• Cost Management: Managing the costs associated with deploying and maintaining the platform can be a significant challenge. This includes budgeting for infrastructure, training, and ongoing support.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitoring and optimising the performance of the platform to ensure it meets the organisation's needs can be complex. This involves analysing usage patterns and making necessary adjustments.
  
  

• 10+ years’ experience managing or influencing technical staff and projects.
• Proven success in improving the quality and effectiveness of services.
• Experience working within a matrix structure for a global organisation.
  
  

• Degree in Computer Science
• Program and/or Project Management Certification
• Modules, certifications or badges relating to the design and implementation of the platform.
  
  

• Power Platform Architecture: Specialized knowledge of how Power Platform hangs together and is able to provide leadership in the design, integration and operation of these systems.
• Microsoft 365 and Azure: Understanding the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including applications like Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, as well as Azure services for cloud computing and data management.
• AI and Machine Learning: Familiarity with AI concepts, machine learning models, and natural language processing (NLP) to understand how the platform leverages these technologies
• Data Management: Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and compliance standards to ensure secure and compliant use of data within the platform.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Skills in monitoring system performance, analysing usage patterns, and optimizing the platform for better efficiency and user experience
• Security: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to protect the platform and its data from threats.
