IT Infrastructure Engineer - DevOps

About The Role

39k Group is hiring a hands-on Infrastructure Developer to help build and scale the core systems powering our high-frequency crypto trading operations. This is a backend-heavy engineering role focused on performance, reliability, and rapid iteration ideal for someone who wants to work closely with quants, devs, and ops to solve real-world system challenges.

What Youll Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that support our trading systems and internal tooling.
• Develop and maintain APIs, real-time services, and internal dashboards using Python and Node.js.
• Architect and implement process automation across deployment, monitoring, alerting, and operational workflows.
• Manage Linux-based systems for trading, ensuring high uptime, real-time logging, system health, and performance visibility.
• Work closely with quant teams to ensure they have robust data pipelines, monitoring tools, and analytics infrastructure.
• Build scalable components for integrations with trading venues, third-party APIs, and time-series databases (like InfluxDB, QuestDB).
  
  

How The Role Works

Youll be embedded in a small team of traders, quants, and devs, with full ownership of the infrastructure layer. We believe in lean teams with end-to-end accountability you'll directly influence uptime, reliability, and development velocity.

What Were Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in backend development, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps/SRE roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Node.js; familiarity with shell scripting and system internals is a plus.
• Proficiency in managing Linux systems in production environments.
• Experience building internal tools, APIs, and real-time dashboards.
• Comfort working with time-series databases and high-throughput data pipelines.
• Clear ownership mindset with strong bias toward action and performance.
