IT Infrastructure Engineer - MPLS

Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize the organizations IT infrastructure. The role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of servers, networks, storage, and core IT services. The position also supports infrastructure upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery operations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations :

• Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and network devices.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
• Install, configure, harden, and maintain Windows and Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) servers.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V) and backup solutions.
• Implement and maintain patch management for operating systems and infrastructure components.
  
  

• Manage LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, and Internet connectivity.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Coordinate with ISPs and service providers for link management and incident resolution.
• Ensure network redundancy and high availability.
  
  

• Implement infrastructure security best practices and hardening standards.
• Support vulnerability remediation, security assessments, and audit activities.
• Manage access controls, privileged access, and MFA integrations.
• Maintain logs and monitoring systems for security and operational events.
• Support compliance requirements including SEBI, CSCRF, ISO 27001, and internal IT policies.
• Update IT policies, SOPs, and documentation in line with regulatory and business requirements.
  
  

• Manage backup operations, restoration testing, and monitoring.
• Maintain DR infrastructure and participate in DR drills.
• Ensure defined RPO / RTO objectives are met.
  
  

• Handle infrastructure incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Participate in change management, planned maintenance, and upgrades.
• Provide daily / weekly operational status Maintain infrastructure diagrams, SOPs, and configuration documentation.
• Document troubleshooting steps and create knowledge articles.
  
  

• Bachelors degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent.
• 38 years of experience in IT Infrastructure / System Administration.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu / RHEL).
• Hands-on experience with VMware / Hyper-V.
• Working knowledge of network devices and firewalls.
• Experience with backup tools and disaster recovery practices.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management and patching.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) is an advantage.
• Experience in BFSI or regulated environments preferred.
