Key Responsibilities
- General Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, control, and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
- Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
- Audit systems and assess their outcomes with proper reporting.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Server Administration:
- Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
- Network Administration:
- Perform network design and capacity planning.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Install and maintain network file servers and network operating systems; ensures that backup copies of all files are routinely made and securely stored at a separate location; maintain system documentation.
- Diagnose problems with network equipment and perform equipment repair or upgrade when appropriate.
- Install, configure, and maintain multi-user software to be accessed from file servers.
- Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment such as hubs, switches, and UPS.
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network-connected end-user hardware, software, and peripheral devices
- Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Disaster Recovery and Fail Safes:
- Work with management to ensure that the disaster recovery (crisis management) and business continuity plans drive disaster recovery (DR) strategy and procedures.
- Establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans through a change management process.
- Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.
- Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful DR execution.
- Schedule and lead all DR exercises.
- Provide ongoing feedback and reports for risk management, mitigation, and prevention to the Upper Management.
- Others:
- Responsible for overseeing the entire tasks of a Cybersecurity Administrator to ensure healthy and secured security policies and security solutions both internally as well as to our clients.
- Responsible for overseeing the entire tasks of a Commercial Customer Support Officer to ensure a good rapport creation of our company with all of our existing as well as new valued customers.
