Overview

Position Title: IT Specialist – NEP Implementation

Department: Education / IT Division

Reporting to: Project Director / NEP Implementation Head

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisions a holistic, accessible, and technology-integrated education system in India. To support this vision, the implementation of a robust IT platform is critical. This role is designed to provide technical leadership and operational support for digital enablement of NEP provisions.

Objectives of the Assignment

To conceptualize, develop, and manage IT solutions that enable effective rollout and monitoring of NEP initiatives, ensuring alignment with policy goals, user needs, and scalable technology infrastructure.

3. Key Responsibilities

Translate NEP policy mandates into technical requirements and digital solutions.

Lead the design, development, and deployment of IT systems/platforms.

Ensure interoperability with national platforms like DIKSHA, SWAYAM, NAD, etc.

Coordinate with central/state government agencies, EdTech providers, and academic bodies.

Manage system architecture, data security, and user experience design.

Monitor project progress, risks, and resource utilization.

Prepare reports, documentation, and policy-IT alignment briefs.

Support training and capacity-building initiatives for platform users.

4. Qualification Criteria

A. Educational Qualification

Essential: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education Technology, or equivalent.

Preferred: Master's degree in Education Technology, Data Science, Public Policy, or related field.

B. Professional Experience

3-5 years of Experience on Microsoft .net and SQL server technology for software development.

5–8 years of experience in IT systems development and project implementation.

Minimum 3 years of experience in the education or public policy domain.

Prior work with government or large-scale educational digital platforms is an advantage.

C. Technical Competencies

Proficiency in software architecture, cloud computing, and data analytics.

Knowledge of APIs, open-source platforms, and content repositories.

Experience with cybersecurity, privacy frameworks, and compliance.

Familiarity with AI/ML applications in EdTech is a plus.

D. Functional Competencies

Strong project management skills (PMP/Prince2/Agile certified preferred).

Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and diverse teams.

Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting abilities.
