Overview:
As our organization scales, we are looking for a proactive IT Support Engineer to streamline and manage day-to-day IT operations across the company. This role is critical in ensuring smooth onboarding/offboarding, timely resolution of IT issues, secure asset management, and compliance readiness. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support both people and infrastructure, while also identifying and implementing improvements in device and software management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Laptop Setup for Onboarding: Configure laptops with required OS and tools for new joiners and ensure readiness prior to their start date.
Asset Provisioning & Tracking: Manage the lifecycle of IT assets (laptops, monitors, peripherals), maintain accurate inventory, and track asset assignment.
IT Support: Act as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues; resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems for employees.
Onboarding & Offboarding Support: Execute IT-related tasks during employee lifecycle events including user creation, access provisioning, and secure offboarding.
Software License Management: Track software tools, monitor license usage, identify unused licenses, and ensure license compliance.
SOC 2 Audit Support: Assist with evidence collection and documentation for IT-related SOC 2 audit requirements.
Device Management Implementation: Evaluate and implement device management solutions (e.g., Jumpcloud, Kandji, Intune) for remote control, monitoring, and policy enforcement across laptops and mobile devices.
Vendor Coordination: Liaise with IT vendors for procurement, support, and warranty servicing.
System Maintenance & Security: Conduct regular system updates, patches, backups, and health checks to ensure system reliability and data security.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT processes, device configurations, and user guides.
User Enablement: Provide guidance and basic training to users on best practices and use of IT tools.
Incident & Request Management: Track IT tickets, respond within defined SLAs, and maintain logs for future reference and learning.
Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in IT operations and propose tools or processes that improve performance, security, or user experience.
Qualifications (Experience & Skills):
- Education & Training:
- Diploma or certification in IT, Computer Hardware, Networking, or related fields (e.g., from NIIT, Jetking, Aptech, etc.)
- Relevant industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+ / Network+
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator
- Google IT Support Professional Certificate
- ITIL Foundation (for service management)
- Certifications related to MDM tools (e.g., Jumpcloud, Intune) are a plus
- Experience & Technical skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or service desk roles
- Hands-on experience with:
- Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows/macOS/Linux)
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues
- Managing IT assets and employee provisioning
- Using device management tools (e.g., Jumpcloud, Intune, Kandji) for remote setup, security enforcement, and monitoring
- Software license management – tracking usage, reclaiming unused licenses, and ensuring compliance
- Vendor coordination for IT procurement, repairs, and support services
- Performing regular system maintenance and basic security tasks (patching, antivirus, backups, etc.)
- IT ticketing systems (Freshservice, Jira Service Desk, etc.)
Exposure to SOC 2 or similar compliance standards is a strong bonus
Soft Skills:- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for user support
- Detail-oriented with good documentation habits
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and escalate issues appropriately
- High ownership and productivity mindset — gets things done fast with minimal follow-up
