Java Developer II

About This Role

This role will have you working within a team of trusted individuals to help achieve innovation in the Private Cloud with use of automation. Building secure stable platforms with its core being self-service for the business units of Swiss Re.

Infrastructure Service unit is looking for a Java Platform Engineer, working toward AI Ops and Self-healing platforms for cutting edge performance and availability while auto scaling to provide the best cost efficiency of the platform overtime. Daily actives working on agile story task to deliver a successful sprint.

You will be joining Infrastructure Services, a dynamic, very dedicated, and cross-functional unit located between Hyderabad, Bratislava and Zürich within Swiss Re Infrastructure Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years' working with Java
• Knowledge of Application runtime platforms such as CloudFoundry
• Strong knowledge in Restful API's and writing automated test cases
• Excellent understanding of APIs, Microservices and related (Cloud) paradigms (e.g. RESTful services) Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Azure DevOps
• Commitment to quality, care for detail and solution oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• English language proficiency
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring and Spring boot
• Existing experience or excited for the opportunity to learn about various other platforms like: Container-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service
• Knowledge of following tools: Git, maven, OpenAPI and Docker
• Experience in container ecosystem (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experienced in infrastructure as code is an advantage, preferred one or more of the following (PowerShell, Python, Puppet, Golang, Terraform, API's)
• Well versed with Java best practice and design patterns
