Java/PL-SQL Developer

We are seeking an experienced Java PL/SQL Developer to join our team at Timus Consulting Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java and PL/SQL, along with a demonstrated ability to debug and optimize code. In this role, you will work as part of a dynamic Scrum team, developing and maintaining software features, ensuring code quality, and contributing to product development from start to finish.

You will also collaborate with product owners to gather requirements, break them into actionable tasks, and help deploy and maintain end-to-end features. If you have a passion for problem-solving, optimizing code, and contributing to a high-performance development team, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts and Java-based applications to meet business needs.
• Perform complex data manipulations, transformations, and optimizations using PL/SQL.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize Java and PL/SQL code, ensuring system efficiency and performance.
• Work as part of an Agile Scrum team, collaborating with product owners, business analysts, and other developers to deliver quality features.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to the teams overall success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Take responsibility for end-to-end feature development, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure that the solutions are scalable, maintainable, and efficient throughout the software lifecycle.
• Take ownership of specific tasks and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of deployed features to ensure stability and usability.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Follow best practices for testing to ensure that all features are properly tested before deployment.
• Continuously improve testing coverage and quality by identifying areas of improvement in the test suite.
• Engage in effective communication with product owners to understand requirements and help break them down into engineering tasks.
• Provide regular status updates, document technical designs, and communicate potential risks or challenges with the team.
• Work closely with team members to review code, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely project delivery.
• Optimize the performance of both Java and PL/SQL code to ensure high-speed data processing and reduced resource consumption.
• Address performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and ensure high availability of the application.
  
  

Experience

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on Java and PL/SQL.
• Proven track record of delivering scalable and maintainable solutions, including experience
  
  

with debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java, with solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and core Java libraries.
• Extensive experience working with PL/SQL, including writing efficient queries, stored procedures, triggers, and optimizing database performance.
• Experience in designing and implementing database schemas and working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
