Junior Full Stack Developer

About the job:

We are looking for a software engineer with 1+ years of experience building software. Freshers with internship experience can also apply. We are looking for tinkerers. Someone who is actually interested in computer science as a profession. Who is excited to learn new technologies & grow as a technical person? They can demonstrate this with a GitHub profile that has real-life projects they have tinkered with 'on their own initiative' -- hackathons, side projects, open source contributions, own use, etc. Academic projects, Udemy-type courses, etc., don't count as GitHub projects for this purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hands-on coding as an individual contributor.
2. Implement product features defined by the Product team.
3. Fix bugs and write automated tests
4. Production Support outside of office hours & weekends - on a rotation basis with other tech team members.
5. Get involved across the stack: backend, API integration, database optimisation, microservices, plugins, queues, deployments, servers, etc

Requirments:

1. Only resumes with a GitHub profile link showing a history of real-life projects will be considered
2. There is a 3-month probation period before your job will be made permanent. During this probation period, your skills and work will be assessed under real-life conditions.
3. Work from Home - Our team is fully remote with team members spread across Goa, Chennai and California. We have daily standups and expect 3 hours of nighttime work when all team members are online. Otherwise, you work during the time most productive for you. We meet in person at regular intervals to ensure camaraderie.

Tech Stack:

1. Our backend tech stack is Groovy on Grails, which is a developer-friendly version of Java & Spring. If you are strong in the Java world, we highly recommend that you apply.

2. 1+ years of deep understanding of object-oriented programming and experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (Groovy or Java)

3. 1+ years of Strong experience with Grails or Spring/SpringBoot

4. 1+ years of Strong experience with SQL Databases (MySQL)

Required Skills:

1. Solid Computer Science Foundation - A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred
