Lead AI engineer - India (Remote)

Job Overview:

As Lead AI engineer at Orthoberry, you will be instrumental in integrating AI solutions into our Orthodontics practice management platform, Berry Studio. This is a hands-on role requiring strong development skills to build and deploy AI solutions tailored for the orthodontics domain.You will collaborate closely with our development team and orthodontic experts to create intelligent tools that enhance every aspect of orthodontic practice management. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and integration of AI models and functionalities into the BerryStudio platform.
• Collaborate with orthodontic domain experts to understand their needs and translate them into practical AI solutions.
• Design, build, train, and deploy proprietary AI models specifically for orthodontic applications.
• Ensure the security and HIPAA compliance of all AI solutions handling patient data.
• Develop efficient and lightweight AI models with a focused knowledge base in orthodontics.
• Implement mechanisms for keeping AI models up-to-date with the latest orthodontic requirements.
• Work closely with the development team to seamlessly integrate AI components into the broader BerryStudio practice management system.
• Prototype, test, and deploy robust and scalable AI solutions on the Azure cloud platform.
• Optimize AI models for performance, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in AI and cloud technologies relevant to our needs.

Skills:

• Expert-level Python programming skills with extensive experience in relevant AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Transformers).
• Proven ability to design, build, train, and deploy custom AI models in a production environment.
• Strong experience in data processing, feature engineering, and data augmentation techniques.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing AI models on cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure (including Azure Machine Learning).
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, version control (e.g., Git), and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on practical implementation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for a remote team environment and interaction with domain experts.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and deliver results.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with a strong emphasis on AI/Machine Learning.
• Demonstrated and extensive experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models.
• Experience working with domain experts or a strong ability to quickly learn and understand domain-specific requirements.
• Understanding of the importance of data security and compliance, ideally with some exposure to healthcare data (HIPAA).
• Experience in building efficient and scalable AI applications.
• Familiarity with the Azure AI ecosystem and cloud-based AI deployment.
• A passion for applying AI to solve real-world problems and contribute to innovation.
