Job Overview:

CGI is looking for a talented and motivated Java Backend with strong expertise in Backend Development (Spring Boot), Hibernate, and RESTful web services, to build and manage scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines and infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, working closely with data scientists, analysts, and business teams.

Your future duties and responsibilities

8+ Years Strong expertise in backend application development using Java, Spring (Spring Boot), Hibernate, and RESTful web services.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable, event-driven backend systems using Kafka, JMS, or MQ to support asynchronous communication.

Implement, manage, and optimize data persistence layers using MongoDB and other relational/non-relational databases.

Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, QA, and business teams to ensure seamless backend integration and timely delivery through CI/CD pipelines.

Containerize and deploy backend services using Docker and OpenShift Container Platform.

Apply DevOps best practices, including continuous integration, automated testing, and continuous deployment of backend services.

Manage source code, branching, and version control using Git.

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend application performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Contribute to technical design, architecture discussions, and code reviews, ensuring adherence to backend development and enterprise best practices.

Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance as required.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

8+ Years Hands-on experience in Java backend development

Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 and above)

Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework

Solid understanding of Microservices architecture

Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs

Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate / JPA

Strong understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns, and SOLID principles

Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

Familiarity with version control systems like Git

Good understanding of exception handling, logging, and performance tuning
