Lead Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Lead Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer to join our team full-time in India.

About the role:

As a Lead Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of advanced data science solutions with a strong focus on NLP, applying robust statistical methodologies and building production-grade systems using Python
• Architect, build, and evaluate Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications using frameworks such as LangChain, including experimentation, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement of LLM-based solutions
• Own the build, deployment, and operation of scalable AI services on Kubernetes or equivalent cloud-native environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and security
• Drive solution architecture and technical strategy, translating business requirements into actionable technical designs, leveraging existing platforms where possible, and defining clear PoC/MVP roadmaps when new capabilities are required
• Lead project estimation and planning, defining scope, effort, and timelines using blended rates and optimal cross-functional team configurations across Data Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, and Analytics
• Act as a technical mentor and escalation point, ensuring best practices, quality standards, and alignment with overall delivery and business goals

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, AI/ML, or Software Engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a technical leadership or lead developer role
• Data scientist with NLP experience, statisctical methodlogies skilled in python
• Experience on RAG applications, through frameworks like Langchain and evaluations of such apps and building
• Build and deploy services on kubernetes or equivalent environments
• Solutioning expertise to take business requests and map against existing assets or define roadmap for the PoC/MVP for the same
• Expertise in estimating the project tasks considering blended rate and team configuration across skills of data engineering, DS, AI and analysis
